Midwest born and raised, I grew up filling one sketch book after another. My innate ability to see shape and detail, and my persistent curiosity of natural processes motivated me to pursue a career where science and art connect. Inspired by my work with data and cartography, I am drawn to organized chaos, patterns in nature, intricate details, and communal gatherings of both human, plant and animal alike. Undeniably, my awe for marine life emerges as a common muse. I enjoy most painting familiar scenes stretched into something more idyllic, like a moment in a dream.
